Joe Mazurkiewicz is the Regional Representative for BJM Consulting, Inc., a firm that specializes in local government activities. At IMPAC University he is a half-time faculty member with a teaching focus in the areas of business strategy and competition, effective communications, leadership, and the impact of history and politics on business. Joe attended the University of Florida where he studied engineering, he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Administration from Barry University in 1991, and a Master’s of Science in Administration from Central Michigan University in 1993. He has led, leadership, communication and strategic planning seminars for the US Conference of Mayors, Florida and International City Clerks Associations, Florida Government Finance Officers Association, as well as, many private corporations.
In 1983 Joe was elected Mayor of Cape Coral, a position he held for ten years. During his service as Mayor he lead the City in its attempt to change from a bedroom community to an urban center. Presently, Joe works on a variety of local issues ranging from land use cases to incorporation studies.
Joe is currently serving as Chairman of the Ruth Cooper Center for Behavioral HealthCare, Executive Director of the Council for Progress Foundation, Chairman for the Leadership Cape Coral Class of 2000, member of the Government, Affairs Committee for the Cape Coral Chamber, Board Member with the Math, Science, Technology Foundation, Campaign Consultant to the Porter Goss Re-election Team, steering committee member for Congressman Goss’s Congressional Class and a past member of Lee County’s Local Planning Agency.
