This program offers a course of study leading to the Master of Science (MS) in Management Information Systems. It focuses on the application of information system concepts to the collection, retention, and dissemination of information for management planning and decision-making. The program blends theory and practice into learning experience that develops skills applicable to complex real-world problems. Its formats offer professionals the opportunity to earn the master’s degree in 18 months while continuing to work in their current positions.
Information Systems have become a fundamental part of almost every business of every size. From the small-town, small business with a handful of employees, to the international corporation with thousands of employees in large cities scattered around the world, modern information systems perform essential tasks that no business can any longer do without. And as technology continues to progress at unprecedented rates, IMPAC University's Masters of Science in MIS will help you learn to stay on the leading edge. Staying out in front will become your natural business position.
The program is designed for students with undergraduate majors in management information systems, computer information systems, business administration, or related fields. Interested students should also have knowledge and significant experience in computer applications. Experience with the Internet is a significant advantage.
Students who do not have the needed background experience or have an undergraduate degree in a different area may be required to take related courses as pre-requisites prior to formal entry to the program. Work experience or demonstrated skill in this field may exempt candidates from these pre-requisites. In rare exceptions, students with extensive experience in computers and information systems will be admitted to the program without a bachelor’s degree (following the rules for such admissions outlined in the University Catalog and elsewhere on this website).
